As a thank you for a great school year, each employee of W. L. Roenigk was offered a pair of tickets to the Big Butler Fair. The Butler Fair has always been a big part of the Roenigk Families’ lives. Our Dad, Bill Sr, and his brothers Lee and Wayne were fair goers from the time they were children. Uncle Lee was a great horseman, raising, showing and pulling Belgium work horses his entire life. Uncle Wayne owned HiHo stables and his son Ben competed in the horse show every summer. Our Dad was on the board of directors for years while we were growing up and eventually was elected President.
There were two things ALL of us kids knew growing up. One, if you didn’t behave, you weren’t going to the fair. And two, if you didn’t get your work done, you couldn’t go to the fair. I have to say that this instilled a work ethic in all of us which is still there today. So what could be more fitting than rewarding an excellent school year with tickets to the Big Butler Fair. Thank you all for “getting your work done so you could go to the Fair.”
